THE CAUSES OF DIFFERENT EYE DISEASES

Given Hong Kong's rapid lifestyle and crowded living environment, students experience a lack of visual space. Added to this is the temptation of the electronic games, with the result that the time that students spend on reading books, watching TV, playing TV games and playing at the computer is much longer than that for rest.

This keeps the eye muscles under constant stress and stain. Since parents are usually busy at work, they have no time to supervise and correct their children's bad reading habits. To make matters worse, there are not enough green leisure areas in Hong Kong that could afford students healthy spaces to relax their tired eyes.

Therefore, problems such as serious short-sightedness, astigmatism, weak eyesight, crossed eyes, lazy eye and glaucoma are appearing one after another, and the cases of these ailments are growing rapidly. Parents should bring their children in for a thorough eye examination on regular basis.
